Re: Fire at San Luis Rey!?

Add me to the list of people who don't ever think there is any such thing as "Just a cat". So very sorry for your loss. They are family. They are our hearts.

Re: TV Discussion Thread

It's a little stretchy in some places but I refuse to believe it's John or Dany. I like The Hound. I'm also ok with the Jamie theories.. although those are stretchier. I have a long commute to work and at 6 in the morning I read a lot of BS since it's all I'm capable of. The Hound's face is born of...

Re: Zenyatta News

Wasn't Storm cat being used for QH breeding even after he retired? I swear I recall something like that. I imagine it's much easier on an older stallion to collect for AI than doing live mounts... and probably can do several insemination off a single collection. DWL bred a QH mare to him. Other tha...

Re: Happiness

I went to Arlington. What a beautiful racetrack. Guys, you should all go. My boyfriend and I are also marveling over how cheap it is to live here. IL coffee is shit but we can import the water I guess.. You should just go to McDonald's for coffee. It's actually very good. I have my own creamer, but...

Re: TV Discussion Thread

There is that theory Tyrion is not a Lannister.. I read these books before the show. I'm dying for conclusions! I read the books too, and loved them. Don't love the 5 year (plus) gaps per book. Super sad the conclusion will come in the TV show before the books. If the books ever get finished. Kinda...

Hey, Mariasmon, have you seen anything on Sightseek yet? I've been watching but haven't seen anything yet. I think she was bred to Into Mischief.

Forty Niner has clearly been cherished and spoiled. His excellent condition ( at 32?! ) shows why IMHO the aged, pensioned stallions in Japan should be left in Japan...not hauled thousands of miles to a strange environment ( Kentucky ). :P Cause Silver Charm, War Emblem, Geri, Creator all looked so...

The ORIGINAL Creator, the first horse Old Friends brought back from Japan. With Sunshine Forever? You know, the one who lived into his 30's there? Oh, don't let their success stories get in your way.

Y'know, it ain't worth the time. Employers don't have moral leave to look into an employee's private life. Maybe this is just me, I've spent the last 24 years working at a horse barn, not in an office environment. My question would be why are you sending your personal emails through your work compu...

I don't know, it looks natural to me. I work with Saddlebreds and we leave the manes long. Looks like every mane in our barn.

Re: Foals of 2017

They looked a little overgrown to me, so maybe she's due for a visit with the farrier? When they are not wearing shoes their feet spread out. Sometimes quite a bit. They don't look long, just wide. Usually mares get their feet done close before foaling so you don't need to worry about it for a bit ...

Re: Charismatic comes home

Perhaps he got cast. . . . We were going with the reports of no signs of struggle or what happened (in addition to it being far more common to break the pelvis outdoors). But maybe the reports weren't accurate since there is a stack of plywood against the wall of his stall the day after his death, ...

Re: Charismatic comes home

They're reporting that he died as a result of complications arising from breaking his pelvis. So no, no quick heart attack. This can still be DARN fast. My horse tripped over her friend, fell, broke her hip and bled to death in the span of 4 minutes. Nothing could have been done for her. I was stan...

Is that a cribbing strap around her neck, or just a little something to let her handlers get a hand on her, since she doesn't seem to be wearing a halter? It looks like it has a nameplate on it, it seems to be one of those 'ID' straps. Too narrow/thin to be cribbing strap. And NOT around their thro...

Re: Pegusus World Cup G1

Is it better or worse for the begining of his stud career to be hurt? As long as he can breed the mares, probably not a big deal. If he can't....... Is his book full, do we know? If he's got 100 plus mares, missing the start could be bad. Although, having bred mares, I don't know how they can plan ...
