Re: Siblings (and offspring) of well-known horses

Golden Award (Medaglia d'Oro), a 1/2 to I'll Have Another, broke her maiden today at Belmont. It was the 4th start for the 3YO. I don't know how strong a field it was, but she won quite easily.

I'm pleased that a Kitten's Joy just hammered at $725K. He doesn't get a lot that sude if $500K.

Re: 2018 Keeneland September Yearling Sale

They should’ve taken that money. Precisely because WTC is a first year sire. They could always breed stage magic back to him later, she’s young. Edited to add... I'm in love with that Violence colt, he looks almost exactly in pattern and colour like an arabian mare I nearly bought many years ago. Y...

Re: 2018 Keeneland September Yearling Sale

If Justify's brother didn't get sold at that price, they didn't want to sell him all that much. He's by a stallion who, if I'm remembering correctly, has his first crop racing this year. I don't get it. I think some people just get off on the attention.

I can’t stand his neck.
I don't understand their photos. Bali cannot possibly be that light. Is he really? And why is his face turned like that?
That's just how Equisport shoots. I would've known who took that without their watermark.

Re: Stallion News

Not necessarily “news”, but the BH Stallion Register lists Keen Ice as being “booked full for 2018”. Wonder how big his book was. I expected him to be popular because “Curlin son defeated TC winner”. Calumet has hundreds of mares. They could probably have filled his book themselves, had they been s...

Does anyone know when the American Jockey Club usually releases the numbers of mares bred by stallions? Went to the website but it is still the 2017 report.
Near the end of October.

Kitten’s Girl (1/2 to Up With the Birds) broke her maiden today at Woodbine and became a TDN Rising Star. Strictly Biz (Fed Biz/ Ipi Tombe ) broke his maiden today at Los Al on debut. Nice! She's getting up there in age, crossing my fingers for a good one... Ipi? She's pensioned from breeding.

Re: Stallion News

This might be more suited to the "Whatever Happened To?" thread but I wanted to post it here since it's dealing with a stallion and I didn't want to make a completely new topic. I was bored the other evening and decided to look through stud farm websites. While doing so I noticed that Country Day i...

I think the difference is that European trainers and owners in general are not as afraid to lose as the American ones when they get a really good horse. Of course I'm not saying that that's always the case (e.g. the effort to preserve Frankel's perfect record-that's not at all hating on the horse, ...

According to Pedigreequery, Apple Betty died in February due to botulism. She was a full-sister to Magician, and a globetrotting Gr.III winner in the US. She was an Aiden O’Brien trainee...is this the virus that has gone through his stables? Can anyone confirm this? She was more recently in the US ...
