Re: 2018 Keeneland September Yearling Sale

Anyone know who Spartan Bloodstock buy for or are they pinhookers? My favorite foal from last year just sold to them and I’m trying to figure out who they are.

He’s a big colt and only went for $550,000. I bet he’s an RNA.

I am also interested in Roman Rosso. Curious to see how he fares since it takes a while for a horse to get acclimated here.

Re: 2018 foals

lurkey, yes they kept getting her up because she was too close to the wall. It’s hard to help a mare foal when there’s a wall in the way . Also it is normal to give an enema to a newborn foal to make it easier for the foal to pass its meconium. Colts have a harder time passing all of their meco...

Looks like Arravale might be getting ready to foal. She tried to lay down, but didn’t go all the way down. I don’t know if it’s the camera, but she looks sweaty as well.

I’ve never heard of Placentitis putting a mare at risk for laminitis. Her weight, especially when she’s late in her pregnancy definitely puts her at risk for Laminitis.

Re: Siblings (and offspring) of well-known horses

I just watched a replay of the stretch drive from the 4th at Werebee (sp?) in Australia. If I heard right, the race was won by a debuting 3yo daughter of All Too Hard and three-time Melbourne Cup winner, Makybe Diva . :o And I didn't get the filly's name. Someone shared a video of the race o...
