Re: Great read - food for thought: Blame the Breeder

I've been a racing fan since I was in first grade... and even after that much time I still don't understand why claiming races are the only option for horses of modest talent in this country. All it serves to do is put humans and animals in the midst of a Byzantine labyrinth where horses disappear ...

Re: horses with unique coloring/facial markings

Awww I feel cheated, I don't think Rodney is in the pic. :-p Then again I'm still LOLing over him training TBs (in an admiring way, like Michael Matz) when all I can think of every time I hear his name is reading my CoTH & Horse & Rider magazines with him & Idle Dice splashed over every page... love...

Ah but how gorgeous would he be if he stayed that seal bay color with those cute little tiny half-socks??? If it was my colt I'd be crossing my fingers he stays dark.

Re: Interview w/Criquette Head-Maarek: 'big mistake for the breeding industry'

I admit the rest of the interview, aside from the challenges facing today's trainers/owners/stable staff, was pretty soft. But those two questions I thought were pretty bang-on and she didn't flinch away from giving blunt responses.

Interview w/Criquette Head-Maarek: 'big mistake for the breeding industry'

What Criquette Head-Maarek sees as ‘a big mistake for the breeding industry’ https://www.thoroughbredracing.com/articles/what-criquette-head-maarek-sees-big-mistake-breeding-industry/ If you could change one thing in racing, what would it be? The mentality of horseracing people. Everyone wants to d...

AI and embryo transfer!? How did she think she was going to get away with that? Unless she was handling all the procedures by herself, in a darkened barn after midnight, there were going to be witnesses. Y'know what, that's actually exactly what I thought when I found out that she ha...
