Re: 2019 Pegasus World Cup

Santa Anita-based front-runner Fahan Mura will ship next week to Gulfstream Park, where she is likely to set the pace in the $7 million Pegasus World Cup Turf Invitational on Jan. 26. Trainer Vladimir Cerin is finalizing details this week for the 5-year-old mare, who rose from the claiming ranks to ...

There’s still a spot in the Pegasus, good seats on the Sculpture still available.😉
One of the best things about being so damn olde is that nothing surprises me anymore.

Re: 2019 Pegasus World Cup

Soli cost $270 and has banked $760 albeit with only one trip to the winners circle.
I can think of worse things to test my patience.

Re: 2019 Pegasus World Cup

Solomini? ;) Can you bet in Vegas or online as to whether he'll change leads? Ahhh yes, for every tenet there's an exception or two like the maiden winner Solomini,, but the good news is that he was 60-1 in that Derby vs. the two 7-1 shots Audible and Mendy from the aforementioned barns. Did Zayat ...

Re: 2019 Pegasus World Cup

Bonus question answer, based on recent history, probably Bobby. We may see Baffert with a few more possibly good Juddmonte youngsters, or they may try the water at another barn or 2. I don't see them going with anything not based in Los Angeles on the west coast, though. The fact the Frankel made t...

Re: 2019 Pegasus World Cup

I don't think that's fair. The Coolmore owners are making those calls, as they are essentially freerolls to create stallion value in America for dir horses. It sure worked well for Giants Causeway ( and even gave Johanessburg a shot ). Tough to blame O'Brien for that, Don't get me wrong, I bet agai...

Re: 2019 Pegasus World Cup

There are a whole bunch of names (same person as well as rhetoric) who lie in the weeds over at the Blood Horse that would take issue with that. Using Baffert as a piñata is a sport over there. Of course there is also someone else over there using multiple names who staunchly defends his every move...

Re: 2019 Pegasus World Cup

The Great White One is doing exactly as I would do, which probably means he should do something else entirely.😉 The great trainers of our time, Lukas and Pletcher to name a couple, seem to take more chances, throw 'em to the wolves, enter no-hopers, whatever you want to call it, but I just don't se...

Re: Santa Anita 2019

From Ed Golden's SA stable notes..... Agent Tony Matos, adept at developing apprentice riders into Eclipse Award winners, hopes his magic touch continues when he brings in 18-year-old Jean Carlos Diaz Jr. from his native Puerto Rico to join Santa Anita’s ever-competitive jockey colony. Diaz, who car...

Re: Santa Anita 2019

Ohh how I remember him, with CJ up winning the Classic paying $40, cha-ching! Is your announcer any good at handicapping? The one guy I know that can successfully wear 5 different hats is Eddie Burgart and his retirement is looming on the horizon. It would not surprise me one bit to see FrankM do a ...

Re: Santa Anita 2019

I vaguely recall Mr. Wrona having some substantial salary demands a while back, maybe LoneStar, so that's possible that his agent got a little greedy. It will be good to hear him on the grass at Kentucky Downs if not sooner. As for FrankM, I think you'll see more involvement in gamblin; info than we...

If you feel picked upon, the only reason I can think of is your constant negativity towards the sport we all love. Your negative criticisms of jockey's e...

Re: 2019 Pegasus World Cup

Frank Stronach is a big boy who can admit failure, but he's also perhaps the biggest name in the sport the past 20 years to try new ideas. So be it the Sunshine Millions or the 20cent rainbow picksix or who knows what Belinda might come up with in the future, I've learned to applaud their innovation...
