Re: Research: Shetland pony behind thoroughbred speed

I doubt if the Shetland being referred to is the miniature now being bred. There were very likely ponies still around at that time that were cross bred riding ponies. Cob sized riding ponies would have been of a size big enough to cross with the Oriental types coming from Africa and the Middle East...

He looks really good for 17. I'm not a Ken Ramsey fan but he has taken excellent care of his prized stallion.

Re: New Conformation Photos

I think getting a really good conformation pic is harder than people think. Dortmund's is a good case-in-point. I like everything about it except he is leaning forward. It was so close to being perfect. I know some people hate the tiny fence in the background effect, but that doesn't bother me. htt...

My favorite on this page.

They did no favors parking Arrogate on a hill, but he was never going to win any beauty contests anyway.

Realistically how many people are going to be interested in Cloud Computing
He's a G1 classic winner with a solid female family. His dam was graded stakes placed and his second dam was a G1 winner. I'd say people will be interested, although I think he'd do best in a regional market.

I don't think he got enough respect in the US and I'm sorry he's gone, but I'm good with him being where he's more appreciated.
Agreed. I'm happy the Aussies wanted him.

Barbara Banke is considering sending Lady Aurelia overseas but also mentioned Curlin (ugh) and Good Magic (double ugh) as possibilities. I say send her overseas to Galileo while Galileo is still doing his thing. Curlin and Good Magic are young yet and she can go to them in the next years. At the sa...

I didn't realize Game Winner's second dam is Fleet Indian. So I guess I'm jumping on that bandwagon. I loved that big-eared Fleet Indian.

Re: Stallion News

Anyone know how tall he is? He looks to be on the smaller side. A very cute boy. I have no idea how you can tell from those photos if he's on the smaller side. He looks to be an average TB height, based on all other photos of him. Not huge, not tiny. All the parts of him seem to be proportional, as...

War Front only had 82 mares- wonder if there was interruption during his 2018 breeding like there was for Super Ninety Nine. Probably not. They've kept his book pretty limited through his whole career. That's partly why demand for his offspring is so high at sales. I have the names of 69 of the mar...
