Re: 11 year old after 6-1/2 year layoff

In the Dr Drip case it doesn't sound like a lack of a retirement home was a problem. He had a home, his jockey asked if he could have him, and then the jockey apparently passed him on to someone who neglected him. The blame for what happened to Dr Drip lies with them, not with his original owners or...

^ Me neither haha. But just looking at the body language I assume the loose horse is a colt who decided to go pick a fight with Lani. So I can't really blame Lani for telling him to back off.

The link that mentions putting him back in training says it came from an interview before the Pegasus. I'm sure him coming back sore brought them back to earth if they were actually serious about it. I'm assuming it ain't gonna happen.

Re: Masochistic DQ'ed from BC Sprint

It's not really about falling for anything. I know the intended use of Winstrol because I do this horse stuff for a living and I've had one treated with it. I've had a horse with a thyroid problem on thyroxine (the stuff Baffert was giving his whole barn). I've had sick horses prescribed clenbuterol...

Re: Masochistic DQ'ed from BC Sprint

what is the main draw to this type of steroid? the word from ron was that it was to put on/keep on weight, but what are the other things it does, or can do? It helps them rebuild muscle tissue and put on weight. It sounds like Masochistic is a light horse and obviously doesn't produce his own testo...

Apparently she was bred on May 2, so should be early April-ish assuming the first try was successful. Can't wait to see that baby.

Re: A Big FU from the Breeders Cup and California to gambler

The recommended winstrol dosage for a horse is about 250 grams, and what was supposedy left in Masochistic's system was less than 0.0000002 grams. It seems to me like they either need to allow for a certain trace amount in a horse's system before it causes a disqualification, or they should just ban...

The richest Arabian race in the world was run tonight in Abu Dhabi, the €1.2 million Sheikh Zayed Jewel Crown. There were 3 US-based horses in the field but it wasn't their night. Paddys Day and Calvin Borel finished 8th, Sand Victor was 12th, and Thess Is Awesome faded to 16th and last after pressi...

Calvin Borel 's latest G1-winning champion mount is an Arabian. http://www.paulickreport.com/news/people/borel-will-follow-reigning-arabian-horse-year-abu-dhabi/ I saw Paddy's Day run at Los Al and the handsome bay looks more like a runner than some of his breed. Elegant, long-legged and with a str...

Entries for the Arabian race at Churchill on Saturday, which ridiculously is the 3rd graded stakes in as many weeks in 3 different states. Not ideal considering the small number of Arabians running in the US. :? $100,000 President of the UAE Cup (G1) http://www.equibase.com/static/entry/CD092416USA1...

Re: Hay, Oats, & Water...

Nothing beats good quality feed, but supplements can definitely help if there's something lacking in their diet. In Oregon the hay is low in selenium, so our horses all get a mineral block or fed a complete supplement that has selenium in it. The horses do look really good on the supplement, but I w...

This was definitely a reminder not to defend anyone you don't know personally, but it's pretty understandable why the knee-jerk reaction was to feel bad for her. It was a weird situation. And I do still think some of the sexist remarks posted here after she was fired were really gross, even if she t...

Was this Uncle Mo's first crop, or second...? If it's his first crop, have other sires had a Derby winner from their first? It's his first crop. According to this he's the 6th stallion to pull that off in the last 20 years. Unbridled (Grindstone) Maria's Mon (Monarchos) Distorted Humor (Funny Cide)...
