Re: California mares bred to Stronach stallions...$500

If you look at Paulick's home page, toward the bottom you'll find a list of the staff...and Ray Paulick has included a phone number after his name. I know he also has a Twitter account, Facebook and there's a CONTACT link in that red box at the bottom of the page. https://www.paulickreport.com/ Look...

Re: The VENT Thread

I've got a big wildfire to the west of me, and another to my northeast. Santa Ana winds are blowing hard from the north/northeast. Ugh.
Cats are wondering why I've hauled out so many clothes and covered my couch with to-go stuff.
I'm sleeping with my clothes on...if I sleep at all. :(

Re: The Melbourne Cup (G1)

Godolphin seems pretty damn happy with the win by their Cross Counter, even though there will be no 'sexy future stud fees" coming from the Teofilo gelding. :P ;) There may be more interest in Teofilo, so there could be some money return there. However, I'm not sure a win in the Melbourne Cup does a...

Highland Reel €17,500

That feels like a bargain for one of Galileo's best sons ever.

Arrow has 37 stallions? That's more than some farms' broodmare bands.
How many stallion barns do they have? A whole suburb of buildings?

Re: The Melbourne Cup (G1)

Losing two of his good horses must be making Aiden wonder whether trying to win the 'Cup was worth it. :( Yes, I know that Coolmore will probably be back next year, but I wonder if they will be adjusting their criteria for picking runners. Like more tough, iron-legged geldings? :? The loss of Cliffs...

From the linked article: "For the occasion, Her Majesty wore a navy blue coat and a printed, cream-colored scarf in lieu of a helmet. In the past, the Telegraph has reported that she always declines to wear a "hard hat" so as to not mess up her hair. " And who is going to tell The Queen that she mus...

Re: Older Horses - 2018

I'm absolutely tickled that Elizabeth is still riding at 92. That's impressive. What an inspiration for those of us who are no longer youngsters. :D Looking at their mounts, I'm curious about the breed ( which is not mentioned in the article ). With the small size, sturdy build and feathered legs, I...

He was precocious and better than his peers at two and starting his three-year-old racing season. Then his peers caught up to and passed him.
Even now, it's like he never really finished growing.

I don't know how much clearer they can make it. Accelerate, West Coast Arrive at Lane's End Breeders' Cup Classic (G1) winner is only making a stop, then returning to training. Lane's End will launch the careers of three powerful new stallions next year, two of which were welcomed to the farm Nov. 4...

...is Accelerate just at Lane's End right now so breeders can get a look at him and then he's going back to Sadler? Re: Stallion News

While that's good news for California breeders, it doesn't seem to be a positive commentary on his Japanese breeding career.
Big Red Farm paid $10 million for him, and now they're shipping him back to California after only five seasons? I doubt that $10 million exchanged hands this time. :?

Re: The Melbourne Cup (G1)

Four horses injured, and one euthanized. That's a lot of carnage for one race.
I thought our 20-horse Kentucky Derby was a demolition derby, but today's 'Cup made the Derby look like a walk in the park.
Was the heavy track an issue?
