Re: Stallion News

Trojan Nation going to Wyoming makes sense. Perhaps they will turn him out with a herd of mixed mares. QH, Sport Horse, etc and let nature take it's course. If he breeds find, it not fine. Maybe he's just shy

Re: Stallion News

Grindstone is "not commercially breeding". Does that mean he will meet a few carefully chosen private mares?

I'm having the same problem with him blending into the background. Monitor is almost new and at 100% brightness he's hard to define. :geek:

Re: New Conformation Photos

Bradster is nicely balanced, although he's so filled out he looks like he's been standing at stud for years. :P

You're right. Any more filled out and the QH mares will be checking him out. :D

Re: 2017 Fasig-Tipton November Sale

Considering her as a broodmare prospect I would look at her pedigree. Are there over at the knee horses in her lineage? If not it is a conformation issue singular to her...a birth defect. Therefore she can't transfer the knee issue to her offspring. It would be a non-issue in the sale price for me. ...

Can't imagine how heavy headed he must be to ride. You would develop some strong wrists that's for sure. No dressage in his future.

Due date is usually around 340 days; can be a little more or less. So if my math is right she is due right about now. Last year she went over and it caused complications for the foal and he died. I'm sure they are keeping a close eye on her this time. 8-)

Thanks for the video. Enjoyed Mike feeding the big boy and also a view of the quarantine area. That's something you rarely see. :D

Leave out the "the". Just PrinceofThebes or Prince of Thebes. Either would be less than 18 characters. :geek:

Re: Stallion News

Pure economics, if he stays here there's the cost of upkeep with no return on investment. Shuttle down under and you collect another season of stud fees. If his book does well in Australia, at a low fee, they can always raise it next year when the foals hit the ground and look good.

Does it seem like a Lot of filly foals this year? A few years ago it seemed like all colts. Guess Mother Nature has to even it up.

Glad to see the boots on Chrome. With all that leaping and jumping he could really do some damage to his legs. Better safe than sorry, especially during breeding season.

RIP boy, at least he died doing something he loved. Not to be mercenary but breeding is a business. So if that mare takes how much do you think this last foal will be worth, especially if it's a colt?

I'm certain Old Fashioned stood at Jejudo (sp?) Stud in South Korea this past season. Think he's still there, haven't heard anything different.

RunHappy has always been an intelligent horse. He figured out early in his career that running one turn, really fast gets him back to the barn sooner. I loved training the smart ones but it's hard to change their mindset. At this stage in his career I would be thankful for him, humor his quirks and ...
